John Calvin Abney, Shonna Tucker & Porter at Callaghan’s (May 26, 2016)
Longtime friend of The Southland Music Line “John Calvin Abney” returned to the Gulf Coast with a performance at Callaghan’s in Mobile, AL. He was one of three amazing musicians to perform on this exciting evening of music. Shonna Tucker (formerly of Drive-By Truckers) and Chris Porter “Porter“ (formerly of The Back Row Baptists and Some Dark Holler) set the evening with the gift of song. The following photos by Stephen Anderson capture some of what made this show very special.
Abney’s 2015 album “Better Luck” was one of the favorite albums at The Southland Music Line’s year end review. His song was “Museums” was also The Line’s Johnny Cole’s favorite song (released or non-released) of the year.
