Chaislyn, recently awarded “Fan Favorite” at this year’s nationally recognized Great River Folk Festival’s songwriting contest, has become one of our favorites at The Southland Music Line. We first met Chaisyln at 2019’s Mississippi Songwriters Festival in Ocean Springs, MS. Her award-winning song “Carole” was one of our favorite songs of 2019 (The Line’s Johnny Cole had it tied at #1 with Bruce Springsteen’s “There Goes My Miracle” ). Since our original meeting, Chaislyn has written some incredible songs, hosted a successful online music show, appeared in numerous songwriting events, and started attending the University of Southern Mississippi. This September, the young singer-songwriter from Baton Rouge, Louisiana returned to the Mississippi Songwriters Festival where she appeared in the annual Youth Showcase and songwriting showcases at Murky Waters and The Roost.
