Royal Horses at Fort Maurepas Park in Ocean Springs, MS (Fri. Sept. 30, 2022)

Royal Horses continue their spectacular ride as one of the most popular bands from south Mississippi and the Gulf Coast region. The Southland Music Line has featured them in numerous photo collections and in an April 2022 article spotlighting their rising career. Royal Horses are Shelby Kemp (guitar/vocals), Daniel Firth (percussion/vocals), Scott Chism (bass) and Jackson Weldon (lap steel & mandolin).

On Friday, September 30th of this year, Royal Horses performed at the picturesque Fort Maurepas Park in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. This historic location overlooking Biloxi Bay commemorates the historic Fort Maurepas (later known as “Old Biloxi”), the first European settlement in Mississippi and the first capital of the French colony of Louisiana, established in 1699. We invite our readers to learn more about this fascinating part of American history.
