475. “Mountain of Love” (recorded live at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA on Dec. 31, 1975; appears on the bootleg album Live to Run) * The classic song from 1960 was written and originally released by Harold Dorman; some others to release it as a single were Johnny Rivers, Ronnie Dove, and Charley Pride.
476. “Johnny Bye Bye” (recorded in 1982 and became the non-album B side to “I’m on Fire” in 1985; appears on Tracks, 1998) * A song written by Springsteen, though Chuck Berry is also given co-writing credits since Springsteen borrowed some lines from Berry’s “Bye Bye Johnny,” as well as the play on the title.
477. “We Got To Get Out of This Place” (recorded “acoustic version” live at the Austin Convention Center during SXSW on Mar. 15, 2012 in Austin, TX; the performance was broadcast on NPR and SXSW websites) * After giving a keynote hour-long speech at the South By Southwest music festival, Springsteen talked in length about the Animals’ influence on his music and performed a moving version of “We Got Get Out of This Place” on acoustic guitar; Springsteen has covered this song a number of times, but this remains my favorite of them. The song, written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, was a #2 single for The Animals in the U.K. and a top 15 single in the U.S.
478. “I Saw Her Standing There” (recorded live with Paul McCartney at Hyde Park in London, England on July 14, 2012; can be found online) * A song by the the Beatles credited to Paul McCartney and John Lennon, but written primarily by McCartney.
479. “London Calling” (recorded live at Hyde Park in London, UK on 2009; can be found online) * A song by The Clash from 1979.
480. “Treat Her Right” (recorded live at Times Union Center in Albany, NY on May 13, 2014; can be found online) * A song written by Roy Head and Gene Kurtz;  originally released as a single by Roy Head and The Traits in 1965.
481. “Pretty Flamingo” (recorded live at The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA on Oct. 17, 1975; can be found online) * A song written by Mark Barkan, which became a hit in 1966 when Manfred Mann’s recording of it was released as a single.
482. “Right Place, Wrong Time” (recorded live at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, LA on May 3, 2014, during an all-star concert tribute billed as “The Musical Mojo Of Dr. John: Celebrating Mac & His Music”; can be found online) * Springsteen played lead guitar and sang most of the verses while Dr. John played keyboard and sang one verse of his classic hit from 1973.
483. “Rumble” (recorded live at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ on Nov. 21, 2005. Springsteen opened two shows during the Devils and Dust tour to honor Link Ray who passed away on Nov. 5th, 2005; can be found online) * A riveting instrumental by Link Wray originally released in 1958. Wray’s “Rumble” utilized the techniques of distortion and feedback, then largely unexplored in rock and roll.
484. “Back in the U.S.A.” (recorded live at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA on Feb. 5, 1975, a benefit show broadcast by WMMR-FM; can be found online) * A song written and released as a single by Chuck Berry in 1959.
485. “Spill the Wine” (recorded live at Hope Estate in Hunter Valley, Australia on Feb. 23, 2014; can be found online) * A song performed by Eric Burdon and the band War in 1970.
486. “Highway 61 Revisited” (recorded live with Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA on Nov. 16, 1990; The Live Series: Songs Under Cover, Vol. 2, 2020) * A 1965 song by Bob Dylan.
487. “The Last Time” (recorded live at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA on Oct. 1, 1978; can be found online) * A song originally recorded by The Rolling Stones in 1964/65; written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
488. “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (recorded live at Wembley Arena in London, UK on June 5, 1981; appears on Wembley Arena – June 5, 1981, an official live download in 2018) *  This classic Elvis Presley song from 1961 has been recorded live by Springsteen multiple times.
489. “The Times They Are A-Changin'” (recorded live at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC on Dec. 7, 1997; can be found online) * A song written by Bob Dylan and released as the title track of his 1964 album of the same name.
490. “Plane Wreck at Los Gatos (Deportee)” (recorded live with various artists at Severance Hall in Cleveland, OH on Sept. 29, 1996, during a Woody Guthrie tribute concert; appears on Til We Outnumber ‘Em…The Songs Of Woody Guthrie, 2000) * A song written (words) by Woody Guthrie and set to music by Martin Hoffman. It was never recorded by Guthrie, but it was covered by many artists, most notably The Byrds on their 1969 album Ballad Of Easy Rider.
491. “Sweet Little Sixteen” (recorded live at the Capitol Centre in Landover, MD on Aug. 15, 1978, during the Darkness Tour; can be found online) * A song written and originally recorded by Chuck Berry in 1958.
492. “Don’t Change” (recorded the INXS song live with Tom Morello at Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia on Feb. 19, 2014; appears on Bruce Springsteen – Sydney 02/19/14, an official live download) * A song written by the Australian band INXS who originally released it on their 1982 album Shabooh Shoobah.
493. “He’s Guilty (The Judge Song)”(one of three songs recorded by Steel Mill at Pacific Recording Studio in San Mateo, CA on February 22, 1970; appears on Chapter and Verse, 2016) * Steel Mill was one of Springsteen’s earliest bands.

498. “Sister Theresa” (recorded live by Child, which later became Steel Mill, at Free University in Richmond, VA on Sept. 20, 1969; can be found online) * An original song about an infatuation with a Catholic nun. (Even then, Springsteen’s songs were inescapably infused with religious imagery).
