Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Festival 2022
This year marked the return of the highly popular Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival at Cassidy Park in Bogalusa, Louisiana, an event that The Southland Music has enjoyed attending since 2014. One of the most memorable things about this year’s Mississippi Songwriters Festival was the arrival of some very talented singer-songwriters from Sweden. On Saturday, September 17, 2022, the Mississippi Songwriters Festival held its annual Reggie Bates Memorial Scholarship Night. On Friday, September 16, 2022, the Mississippi Songwriters Festival honored Joe Gilchrist, the longtime co-owner of the legendary Flora-Bama and the man whose love of music is credited as the driving force behind the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival.
